Founded by Leonie Spencer, a busy mother of 3, Modern Mums’ was conceptualised and built with a focus on providing convenience and support to mums dealing with the demands of raising a family in our busy modern world.
“Building Modern Mums’ has been an amazing journey and to be honest it has taken on a life of its own.
For some time I had been focusing on finding an idea for a business that I could build and grow.  I had two major requirements.  Firstly I knew it had to be something I was passionate about and secondly it had to be something that would contribute back to the community.

One day, after a conversation with some friends about how difficult raising a family can be when life is so busy and discussing how hard it is to live up to the expectations we have of ourselves as parents, the idea of Modern Mums’ came to me.

From there I broke the problem down.  What do mums need to assist them in dealing with the challenges they face? Firstly, coming from a counselling background, I know the importance of support when facing challenges and secondly, if we don’t have enough time then what we need is greater convenience.  

When I developed the concept of Modern Mums’ it was always prevalent in my mind that I wanted to create a community where, as mums, we could share our respective experiences,  grow from our collective wisdom and gain support from each other’s mutual understanding of the challenges we face.   I wanted to provide mums with relevant practical information which would assist them in managing the many and diverse challenges of parenting ranging from pregnancy, to dealing with teenagers and even moving through to looking at how we can best support our daughters in their own journey through motherhood.   On our home page you will find tabs that are easy to follow and will lead you to our various support and information sections.

Modern women and modern mums are trying to keep their families functioning in a ‘time poor’ world.
We don’t get time to browse and make contemplated choices.  The day to day necessities like buying clothes for the family, fitting out the house and buying gifts, have all become chores.  These things shouldn’t be chores.  Women love shopping.  The problem isn’t the shopping, the problem is the lack of time.

Gifts and toys are a specialty with any product in store being able to be sent through our gift service, we will wrap it write a card and ship Australia wide and send the invoice separately to you.
