10 Inexpensive Beauty Products That I Love and Save Money

One secret for saving a pretty penny on make-up and skin care - besides not wearing any at all, is to stay informed and realising that high price doesn’t necessarily mean the product is better or worth their money.

Paula Begoun is internationally recognized as a consumer supporter has been investigating the cosmetic, skin-care and hair-care trade for nearly 30 years. Paula says, “Expensive doesn’t mean better.” - “Once you know the facts your skin and budget will look better.”

Paula’s book, “Don’t Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me”, explains specifically what products live up to their claims, what products don’t, and what products waste your money.” Visit her website for more information at www.cosmeticscop.com

“Try these easy-on-the-pocket beauty products and save
money”

I use a mix of reasonably priced and cheapies products that won’t break the bank. Try these easy-on-the-pocket beauty products and save money:

“Cetaphil” gentle skin cleanser ($15) 500ml - from pharmacies is a real cheapie and has been around for years. Paula Begoun recommends it as the best buy face and makeup cleanser because it is gentle on the skin, Ph balanced and excellent value.

“Juliet” Body Revitalising Shower Gel Tropical Fizz - 1 litre has a delicious smell, soap free and Ph balanced. It’s ridiculously cheap for $2.50 at Aldi – saving around $6 for the same in a name brand product.

Avon’s Glimmersticks Retractable Liners – Lip liner in Simply Spice and Eyeliner in Black at around $12. I wait for the specials and save about $6 per item.

“Olay Regenerist Cream” – 50g is an inexpensive face cream ($25) containing excellent products that conditions the skin. I use Olay in summer and for the winter, when the weather is more drying on my skin, I swap to Paula’s Choice Hydrating Treatment Cream – 60 ml $25. Paula’s products can only be purchases online at www.paulaschoice.com.au

I splurge on Clinique for foundations as it suits my skin the best. At present I am using Supermoisture Makeup Teint Hydratation Maximum – Colour: Beige 10 at around $40.

For shampoo, it’s hard to beat FRUITRIENCE Raspberry and Pink Grapefruit Enriched. Choice magazine, July 2006 trialled many top-rating shampoos and Fruitience received a top score for the reason that it was found to be equally good as many salon products but priced at $2 per 100mL.

These products work for me; I hope they work for you and that you save money too!
